About me
I am Lucía Herrera Larotonda, a psychologist by profession, with more than 10 years of work in the world of psychoanalysis and psychoanalytic psychotherapy. During this time I have had the privilege of accompanying several people in the process of finding new ways to deal with their discomfort and to feel better.
My path began at the School of Psychology of the Central University of Venezuela, "The house that overcomes the shadows", where I received valuable training, both in technical and ethical and human aspects, training that still accompanies me today and makes me the professional that I am.
I have migrated twice: first to Peru and then to Spain. Both experiences have been enriching, personally and professionally, because they have allowed me to work with people from different cultures, origins and with different situations and ailments, focusing in turn on the care of migrants.
In Peru I worked at the Centro de Desarrollo y Asesoría Psicosocial (CEDAPP), dealing with cases of violence and sexual violence against children and adolescents from a psychoanalytical perspective. There I have also had the opportunity to carry out several projects of prevention and attention to these problems with vulnerable populations. Today I continue to supervise new professionals who work in the NGO and I am part of the Board of Associates.
At CEDAPP I participated in a 4-year training seminar on Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy of Couples and Families, and I was able to enter this interesting world which involves a different kind of work.
During my time in Lima I trained in Lacanian Psychoanalysis for 4 years, at the Centre for Research and Development (CID-Lima) of the New Lacanian School, training that I then decided to continue in my second migration, in Spain, this time at the Clinical Section of Madrid (NUCEP), where I have been trained for 4 years with great analysts as teachers.
This has been a great decision, because I have found in Lacanian psychoanalysis a space in which there is a deep respect for the analysand's own words, without labels or magic formulas, but a listening to the singular, the unique of each person.
I am part of the Red Psicoanalítica Madrileña, a network of psychoanalytic care that is part of the NUCEP and I attend in person in Madrid and online all over the world.
